Keep Your Access Information Private
Section: Account, Login & ProfileCategory: Account TroubleshootingGuide4 min read
Summary
This article helps residents keep building access information private and secure. Access information includes PINs, guest PINs, Digital Key access, account login details, invite links, and other building access credentials.
Residents should not personal access credentials with guests, neighbours, vendors, or anyone who should not have independent access. Use approved guest access methods when available — such as Guest PIN or Guest App — instead of sharing your resident credentials.
Your PIN, Digital Key, and other building credentials should be treated like house keys or banking PINs. Only access through approved guest tools and avoid exposing your credentials publicly.
Property management controls building access rules and can review access concerns or suspected misuse.
Why This Matters▾
- PINs and Digital Key actions control entry to your unit and may reach other doors your building configures.
- Shared credentials can create security and privacy issues—anyone with your resident PIN may retain access until you change it or your building revokes it.
- Guest tools such as Guest PIN, Guest App, and co-resident access exist so you do not need to share your personal credentials.
What is safer than sharing my PIN?▾
- Guest invitations through Guest App with dates and access limits your building allows.
- Temporary guest PINs created in Manage Access for short visits.
- Co-resident access tools so roommates each have their own ongoing credential instead of one shared PIN.
Should I post my PIN in chats or screenshots?▾
- Resident or guest PINs
- Intercom PINs
- QR codes or invite links for guest access
- Digital Key unlock screenshots that expose credentials or door details
What should I do after a guest leaves?▾
- Remove guest access when the visit ends if your building does not expire it automatically.
- Delete or update expired Guest PIN entries in Manage Access.
- Review active guest entries periodically—especially after parties, contractor visits, or roommate changes.
What if I think someone else knows my PIN?▾
- Change your PIN when Manage Access allows it—see Change Your Suite Lock PIN code.
- Remove suspicious guest access and co-resident entries you no longer trust.
- Contact property management or support if you suspect misuse—see Report a Privacy or Access Concern.
Varies by building▾
- Which guest access tools appear (Guest PIN, Guest App, visitor limits)
- Whether My PIN, Intercom PIN, or Digital Key are enabled
- How long guest credentials last before they expire
- Building security policies and who can reset access
